Baby teeth accompanies each kid from infancy into teenage. They are important not just in chewing food, but they also play a role in phonics, jaw development and eruption of permanent teeth. Having healthy and caries-free baby teeth is a strong predictor of good dental health in adulthood.
Dental Caries:
Or ‘tooth decay’, is a bacterial disease of calcified tissue of teeth. It is characterized by demineralization of the inorganic and destruction of the organic substance of the tooth. To prevent further destruction of tooth structure, which might lead to dental abscess and severe infection, early identification and treatment of dental caries is most important.

Dental Trauma:
Trauma to the teeth, esp. upper front teeth, happens much more frequently to children than adults. Both primary and permanent incisors can be involved in a trauma, hence the complexity in management. A timely helping hand and a professional paediatric dental team is the parent’s best support when things happen.
