Common used appliances:
1. Fixed labial braces
It is the oldest, most mature and most economical orthosis. The braces are fixed on the labial surface of the teeth; they can be made of metal or ceramic, combined with the wire to align the teeth. The advantage is high economic efficacy, and the technique is widely used. The disadvantage lies mainly in the aesthetic part and is relatively more complex in daily cleaning.

2. Lingual Braces
It is located on the lingual side of the teeth; the appliance is usually stainless steel or precious metal. Since the treatment is on the inside of the teeth, people will not notice it. It is a priority for those with high aesthetic standards. The disadvantage is that cleaning is more complicated and may affect pronunciation in the initial stage. Due to the complexity of the technique, the price of lingual braces is also the most expensive among various orthodontics techniques.

3. Clear aligners
Introduced to the market in 2000 by the American company Invisalign, it uses digital design and processing technology to move the teeth using transparent diaphragms as aligners. The advantage is that it is easy to take off and wear, it will not affect eating and social activities, and the aesthetic effect is better than traditional braces, but it can still be seen. The disadvantage is that it relies heavily on the patient’s cooperation and needs to be worn for more than 22 hours a day to ensure efficacy. It is not suitable for use in specific situations, such as very tiny crowns.
